we do love our fashion, but compared to anita clarke, aka geekigirl, we’re just rank amateurs in our love for what’s stylish. through her blog, i want i got, anita has carved out a niche as one of the most original, and down to earth voices in the world of fashion. while she writes about many of the popular fashion lines, it’s her research and knowledge about the smaller, but just as amazing designers you’ve never heard of, that really separates her from the fashionista hordes.
her personal style is impeccable. while everyone claims to be ‘fresh and original’, geekigirl actually is. just a quick peek at her blog or twitter stream will quickly lead you to discover some amazing item of clothing, fashion photographer, or design campaign that will blow your mind. you’ll wonder how you could have been missing something so amazing. she’s a fixture at many fashion shows, and often has the breaking news and inside scoops, spiced with a very large dose of humour, that we all love to hear. it’s one thing to write about fashion from a distance, but it’s a whole ‘nother thing to be there experiencing it up close and in person, which she often does. her travel diaries from india and new york city make for top notch reading.
we are honoured to have geekigirl sharing some of her fashion sense with us over the next few weeks. you can look forward to lots of fresh ideas, and new insights into fashion, culture, and style you won’t see anywhere else. take a second to say ‘hello’, and leave your questions in the comments section, to make anita feel right at home. we feel more in the know already.
